European project : Communicating dance

Depuis 2014, participant au programme européen Communicating dance, mettant en lien jeunes chorégraphes et écrivains pour réfléchir à la notion de leadership et aux pratiques de communication autour de la danse contemporaine.

Communicating Dance supports young choreographers and writers/journalists in the field of contemporary dance as future leaders in the professional dance sector. Leaders in dance need specific competences and particular awareness related to the dynamic European creative industry.

Communicating Dance focuses on recognizing and acknowledging these multi-layered aspects required for cultural leaders with responsibility for teams, funding, communication, distribution.

The ability to clearly communicate to different target groups (team members, audiences, presenters, funding bodies et al.) is an important competence to be developed through this programme.
With activities in the six partner countries Communicating Dance raises awareness of the different cultural working relations and contexts in Europe today and thus offers career planning within a European context.

By training young choreographers and writers in both shared as individual learning trajectories, Communicating Dance aims at strengthening the European contemporary dance scene, contributing to its competitive edge and visibility within the international creative industry. An online blog will give insight in the project by sharing best practices and serving as a starting point for a new European platform for the critical discourse on contemporary dance.

Communicating Dance is initiated by :

The project is supported by the Leonardo program which is part of the European Commissions’
